For those of you who shop QVC you probably already know David Dangle, CEO of Joan Rivers Worldwide. You may also know Gus, his whip smart, Smooth Fox Terrier, but did you know David Dangle had already made a name for himself before he and Joan started their phenomenally successful brand or that they pioneered television home shopping? For years David Dangle and I have talked (behind the scenes) on Instagram.
His legions of fans will be glad to know in-person, he’s the same great guy you see on television.
Since 1983, when he launched his first Cable bracelet, the twisted helix has been David Yurman’s signature design. This month Rizzoli published Yurman’s first book, a gorgeous coffee table retrospective of his work. Recently Neiman Marcus invited me to interview him.
The first thing David Yurman said when I walked in the room was, “Who made your necklace? It’s like my early, direct weld necklace!”
Hope everyone’s having a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend! I just returned from New York City where it seemed as though every third woman oohed and aahed over my Julie Vos stacked bracelets, including the woman at the hotel checkin desk who went “gaga;” the woman at the next dinner table who wouldn’t let go of my arm; a fellow shopper at Barney’s and a friend I met for lunch.
By the way, Julie Vos is having a Memorial Day Sale this weekend!
