When I heard that green is the color of the year for 2017, I had to laugh. Why? Over the years I’ve had various shades of green walls in a few rooms in my home. My woodwork and cabinets are a cream color, and the green was striking against it. However I got tired of it, and in the last year repainted the rooms a more neutral color. I guess I can look at it that I was ahead of the trend.
Green Walls are In
Nothing freshens up a room as much as paint, and it’s the easiest way to make a dramatic change. Going green will do just that.
The following is a beautiful example of stunning green walls shown in Traditional Home. The color pops with the white moulding.
At Scandinavian Home Staging, they’re featuring a hint of teal in their green walls. Painting the woodwork the same color gives a whole different feel to the room.
In this photo a similar green is shown with white woodwork.
This bathroom featured in the Boston Globe has muted walls in a mossy green.
Statement Lacquered Walls
Last year we toured a gorgeous condo in NYC overlooking Central Park. It was over-the-top beautiful! The whole condo was neutral except for one accent wall which was a lacquered teal. A gorgeous jewel tone color that felt so fresh and rich with the extra shine! Simply stunning.
