I hope you’re all having a great week. Today my friend Cindy Hattersley and I are each interviewing a different woman for our monthly Ageless Style series.

In 2021, Diane Britt-Smith walked away from a career in international media as a video producer and a training director, and returned to her love of acting, modeling, and voiceovers. Since then, Diane’s worked on campaigns–in front of the camera–for Carol’s Daughter, It Cosmetics, Delta Airlines and numerous other companies. Diane is a great example of why we need to follow our dreams and why we should map out a game plan for how to get there, instead of wandering aimlessly in the dark.

Earlier this year I wrote a “Winners and Sinners” post about Concealers and Correctors for Women Over 50 where I mentioned a concealer/corrector that was supposed to be the “pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.” But the product was such a hit, it was sold out everywhere I looked. Well, I have good news. I bought some this week and let me count the ways I love it.

Oh, my stars. It’s fabulous.

Did you know your skin accounts for almost 16 percent of your overall body mass? It’s the largest organ in your body. It’s waterproof and soft enough to allow movement but tough enough to resist tearing, plus it keeps out bacteria. It’s also a good indicator of your overall health. Now that you know all of the amazing things your skin does for you, how do you take care of it? Especially the skin on your face.

Even if we don’t have blemishes or hyperpigmentation, monthly facials are a good way to reduce stress, improve your overall well-being and create younger-looking skin.

Today, Cindy Hattersley and I are interviewing a different over 50 woman for our Ageless Style series.

Since she was in her 20s, Candace Leslie Cima has never understood why aging has had such a negative connotation. Now, at age 76, Candace has a popular Instagram page, @lifeinmy70s, and a YouTube channel that offers suggestions for becoming the woman our mothers and grandmothers never dreamed of being.

Join me as Candace and I discuss what it means to be healthy and stylish as we age.

This week Dominique Sachse’s precious mother, Audrey Toll, died five days after she suffered a major cardiac event and subsequently was placed in a medically-induced coma. Anyone who knows Dominique or watches her popular YouTube channel knows how much fun they had together and how much they loved one another. My heart breaks for Dominique because I know she is devastated. Audrey’s joyful personality should be a reminder to all of us to seize the good things in life and let go of the ones that aren’t serving us well.

“Eight weeks ago when I interviewed Dominique for my Ageless Style post, she said something that’s stayed with me. It was almost as if it were a portent of things to come.

Today I’m joining my friend Cindy Hattersley for our monthly Ageless Style series where we each interview a different woman we think you’d enjoy meeting.

If you like makeup and hair tutorials on YouTube then I imagine you’ve watched some of Nikol Johnson-Sanchez’s videos. Nikol celebrates and focuses exclusively on women in their 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and beyond. Beyond, you ask? Yes. She did a simple, pretty makeup on Henrietta, a vibrant 101-year-old woman. With over 600,000 YouTube followers, 3.3 million likes on TikTok, and over 270,000 Instagram followers, I’m guessing you’ve seen Nikol.

“Let’s get this beauty started.”

Today I’m joining my friend Cindy Hattersley for our monthly Ageless Style Series. This month I’m interviewing Dominique Sachse, a former prime-time TV news anchor and broadcast journalist for KPRC 2 in Houston, Texas, a Top 10 market. During her 28 years on television, Dominique was a household name. She received numerous prestigious accolades including three Emmy awards and the prestigious Edward R. Murrow award among others. But since then, Dominique has shifted her focus from television to filming and editing her own YouTube channel where she talks to almost two million subscribers from around the world. Women in their prime who are looking to see themselves differently, step outside of their usual box and look, feel, and be their best.

Here’s part of my recent conversation with this classy lady.

My recent “Invitation to the Rest of Your Life Trip” in Tuscany wasn’t what any of us expected—not me or the ladies who joined me. No one could have foreseen that early the morning of day three, I would get horribly sick at the villa, unable to be more than ten feet away from the bathroom, but that was only the beginning.

I wound up being taken to a hospital in Florence, Italy, and eventually returning to the U.S. with the aid of wheelchairs at each of the airports.

There was a time in my life when I lived in jeans. Straight-leg, bell bottoms, and black velvet jeans were staples in my closet. While I weigh about the same as I did then, my body has rearranged itself. Now I’m short-waisted, and my butt has dropped in altitude which means jeans no longer look as good on me as they once did. Last week I went shopping for some spring clothes that didn’t include jeans, and I have to tell you, I was wowed by Banana Republic’s new line.

Here’s a look at what I bought.
